Peter Froitzheim is a New Jersey/NYC based photographer who specializes in portraits and editorial-style photography. In 2019, he developed Shots with Peter Photography.
A graduate of Montclair State University and a New Jersey native, I’ve worked with a variety of clients based here in Northern New Jersey and NYC, including local models and actors.
I first picked up a camera when I was about 12 years old. It was a small Nikon COOLPIX and once I hit that shutter button, I fell in love.
Since that point, my photography improved over time. I started to teach myself how to edit in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. I taught myself the basics of operating a DSLR camera. I expanded my arsenal of camera gear and started collecting various lenses.
In early 2019, I took a huge chance and left my day-job at the time to backpack around Southeast Asia and New Zealand to help hone and grow my skills as a photographer. Upon returning to the States that June, I had to rely on my new and improved photography skills to start generating a source of income and that gamble ended up paying off immensely.
When I work with people, I want to get to know my model. I want to see what makes them tick and see how I can bring out that personality in a photo. For me, I see beauty and confidence in everyone and I want to be able to have every person I work with see that in themselves.
